Exploring methods and techniques for Decision and Choice Making I have found his technique OOC & EMR. He insists that we should make major Decisions on paper instead of doing them in our head.

Phase A for Decision Making - OOC
Step 1- Define your OUTCOME
What do you want?
What Result are you after?
What is your Goal?
At this step Robbins says that Reasons do matter. So you should clarify your Reasons. What are you Whys? What are your Reasons for wanting? Why do you say you want that Goal?
Step 2 - Define your OPTIONS
What are your Options for achieving your Outcome from Step 1?Robbins insists that we should have at least 3 Options.
Step 3 - Define Possible CONSEQUENCES
At this you Robbins says that you should assess your each one of your Options in terms of :
What would you Gain/Lose if you were to take this Option?
What are the Upside/Downsides of this Alternative?
What are the cost of pursuing this Options?
Phase B for Decision Making - EMR
Step 4 - EVALUATE your Options & Eliminate from them
Here Robbins says we should Evaluate the Gains/Losses of each Option.
What is possible to happen if I take this Option?Eliminate the irrelevant / low impact Options.
On a scale from 1-10 how valuable are the Upsides/Downsides relative to the Results I want?
How likely is that the Upsides/Downsides will actually happen?
What is the emotional impact?
Step 5 - Mitigate the DAMAGE
Robbins says that we are usually afraid of making the though decisions because of what would happen if we make the wrong choice.
So at this step he says that we should consider/envision the Downsides of the remaining Options.
After that we should brainstorm / think of ways to reduce and / or eliminate the undesired Effects of the Options we consider taking.
Step 6 - Make a Choice and RESOLVE
At this point Robbins says that we should be able to decide and choose the Options that has the best chances for achieving our Initial Outcome.
He says that many of us are driven by fear in decision making. Fear that things won't work out the way that we have planned for or wished for.
One should realize that we are in charge of "What this or that Means". The Meaning / Interpretation that we give to things / experiences is in the end up to us. That is it could be up to us if we take charge of it instead of resorting to socially conditioned meanings.
So even if things won't go as you have planned initially you get to decide what it means.
Does it mean that it's a failure?
Does it mean that is a learning experience?
Does it mean that it't time to rethink the initial criteria according to which one determined what is Success / Failure?

So what you think about this technique for decision making? What would you add or take out from it to increase the quality ot you choices and in the end of your life?
