What is the purpose of existence?

Purpose and Meaning of Life #10

Assess the Worth of the Pursuit Exercise

How much would you be willing to pay in order to have these answers?
What has costed you so far?
How much time, effort, other resources have you invested so far in this endeavor?
Has the Investment paid off so far?

Let's imagine that somewhere on this earth, on a remote place, there is an old and wise man who is able to give the answers to this questions.

How much would you be willing to spend in order to get these answers?
How much do you value these answers?
How important are they to you? What else is there more important than having these answers?

Let's assume that you finally decide that the answers are worth spending whatever costs and you get face to face with this Old and Wise Man.

You have high expectations, hopping that everything will be perfect after you'll have these answers. Life will be just like living in paradise, eternal happiness, no more problems.

Situation-1. Many of go in these kind of pursuits assuming and expecting that once we'll have the answers everything will be fine. And since that doesn't usually happen we go on onto the next pursuit expecting the same result, that never comes. We self condemn ourselves to a sort of perpetual frustration, disappointment.

It like looking for the answers to how have an athletic body. We search and we search and we find different kind of answers but we still keep on searching. Why? Well mainly because an Answer is just that an Answer. In order to get Results (the athletic body we want) we also need to act upon it.

Situation -2. Another expectation and unconscious premise that we have in these sort of pursuit is that there is only one kind of Answer, applicable to all us. We unconsciously think in terms of Right-Wrong, Either-Or type of thinking.
If he is right then I must be wrong or If I'm right then she's wrong.

What'll you do if you won't like the Answers that the Old and Wise Man will give you?

Yet the Answers that he shares with you have worked for him and for other people that have reported to have found Meaning and Purpose in their Life?

Now let's think for a moment if you don't like the answers that he gives you most likely have subconscious Model of the World, a Set of Criteria, a Blueprint of how things should be with which you compare his answers and conclude that you don't like them.

If that's the case then spend some time to uncover and become aware of the subconscious Model of the World, the Set of Criteria, the Blueprint of how things should that you use. Once you uncover it evaluate it and decide if it's still make sense to use it as a reference point.

So with these premises in mind mind let's ask ourselves if it's worth pursuing the Quest for the Purpose & Meaning in Life?

What could you be doing instead?
What if you'll have reached the End of your Life without having had the answers to these questions?

Could you live a Happy, Successful and Fulfilled life without knowing the answers to these question?

How do we DEFINE the Terms/Concepts of LIFE, MEANING & PURPOSE?
Is there a general agreed upon definition?

What is Life after all?
How do you define Life?
Only we human are alive?
Is a Dog, Worm, Bug, Tree alive?
Is yes, do their lives have Meaning and Purpose?
Do they ponder these types of questions?
