GAPE Mindset Diagnosis Guesses, Anticipations, Predictions, Expectations

Diagnose your  G.A.P.E Attitude / Mindset

G.A.P.E is an acronym that stands for: Guesses, Anticipations, Predictions, Expectations.
It has to do with how you think about and approach the future, i.e the choices your are making about the future. It also explores your attitude versus other people and the help they might provide.

Below there are a series of questions that will help you to become aware of how you currently act and make decisions.
After that it's up to you to choose if you'll go along the same route or purse a different path for success.

Do you treat your predictions, anticipations, guesses, expectations as Fixed, Certain to happen, as if you had the power to know the future with absolute certainty?

Do you look at your predictions, anticipations, guesses, expectations more in terms of likelihoods or probabilities?

When it comes to what is going to happen in the future do you:
- Play the victim role, i.e others cause things to happen to me?
- Play the God Complex (inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility), i.e you have absolute power over what is going to happen and your predictions are destined to happen?
- Have more of a balanced approach, i.e while you assume responsibility for your role in what is going to happen, you also acknowledge external interferences and unexpected things?

Have there been times when things turned out differently than predicted or expected?

When things turn out differently than what you expected do you:
- Get defensive and/or Aggressive vs yourself /or others?
- Are you looking foe someone to Blame or Punish?
- Complain  and look for excuses, justifications?
- Examine your strategy / design and look for ways to improve it for the future?
- Take responsibility for your role and figure out what you need to learn form this experience and what to do differently next time?

Do you personalize, i.e do you Identify yourself with your predictions and consider that this is the only prediction? or...
Do you think that this is one of the predictions I made and at the same time I could come up with other predictions by myself or by talking with others?

Do you think in lines of I'm afraid to be proven wrong so I don't tell others about my predictions?

or more of ...I'm aware that my predictions are a function of my knowledge, wants, previous experiences and speaking with others about them might help me identify and correct weaknesses and mistakes?

Do you agree that different people with different knowledge and experiences could give you valuable insights?

Are you afraid to ask other people for input and feedback because they might think less of you, won't love or respect you as much?

Do you believe that in order to be loved, respected by others do you have to know everything, every time, and never make mistakes?

Do you primarily surround yourself with people that are smarter or dumber than you?

Are you looking for the best solutions, regardless where they might come from, or are you primarily motivated to control and impose onto others what you assume to be "right solution"?

Do you assume perfection and move straight into full implementation or do you run a series of incremental tests to identify, correct mistakes and weaknesses in your plan?
