We say that the Body will day while the Soul is immortal.
Even though I can't make a case either way I guess we can agree that we can't Evaluate the Meaning and Purpose of our Life on this Earth based on the immortality of the Soul.
It would then make sense to Evaluate Life on this Earth and it's Meaning & Purpose based on what we choose to do on the limited time that we have at our disposal.

Death & Funeral Thought Experiment
So sooner or later our bodily experience and journey on this Earth will come to an End. Let's assume and Imagine that there will be a Funeral Event. It could take place in a church or in an another location of your choice.
There'll be people present there and there is ceremony of some kind. Some of the people you know very well. Some of them you might have forgotten because you have followed different paths. At some point during the ceremony some of the people will give speech about you.
What would you like them to say about yourself?
Who would you like to present at your funeral?
Would you want them to be grateful for having met you?
Would you prefer that they would be there because they Loved, Miss and Respected you or just to do a social functioning?
How would you feel if you were to realize that they are relieved that you're dead because you had a negative , destructive impact on their life?
For what would you like to be acknowledged for?
What kind of achievements would you prefer others would appreciate, cherish and respect?
What would enjoy to hear them say about the type of person you were?
How would you liked to be described by them?
What would you prefer that they describe the relationship they had with you?
What would you enjoy to hear about the impact you had on them and the world you lived in?
How would you like to hear them say about your Health, Finances, Lifestyle, Work and Career?
Who would you want above all to present at your funeral? Why?
Are there persons that you wouldn't to have at you funeral? Why?

What would you want them to say that was the Meaning and Purpose of your life?
